![]() So.I started the noise and moved out when my lease was up. but I had a similar problem and I handled it with what are they doing while they are there watching t.v eating my food( meaning maybe I put in towards groceries) making noise like no one else lives here and deducted this from the rent. They then spent 2 hours jump stomping directly over us so we had to leave mid-way through dinner. Answer (1 of 10): I don’t know if this is legal. I'm not very sure where to take it from here. I don't mind if she is streaming or on the phone, as long as she isn't being loud. However, I'm getting annoyed that I have to keep asking her on a weekly basis. One time, I had friends over for thanksgiving and tey saw them come inside. I've asked her politely several times to be more quiet at night. They also used to throw garbage down the stairs instead of walking it down the 3 flights from their appt to the ground floor. ![]() I talked to them 5-6 times about the noise over a month and eventually every time the father went down the stairs he'd jump down them just to piss me off since my cupboards/dishes would rattle. There are common rooms provided in our dorm with desks but she refuses to go there as well saying there are too many mosquitoes. My roommate refuses to study using a lamp saying it makes her eyes hurt. I cant sleep with the lights on AT ALL, despite me trying multiple times, even with an eye patch. So, every time they woke me up at 3 am I'd hook a Bluetooth speaker to the top of my bed frame right in the corner of the hole and play a marvel movie with full base. The problem is that I am a light sleeper. I asked them to put something soft on the floor but they refused to put down carpets or soft pads for the kid to play on. When I went up to ask them to please be a bit quieter at 5am they opened the door, told me 'no, they have a kid' and slammed it in my face. The front desk person laughed at my friend and the customer service representative heard it. ![]() I was calling the national customer service line on my cell. I had my friend call down to the desk to ask for an upgrade. Our room was too small for a roll away bed. They were stomping, dropping shit and being loud literally all day/night. Actually, that night my roommate and were moved. It was fine until a family with a 2 yr old moved in. Perhaps in the future, you could ask them to turn it down, while you put in earplugs or turn on a white noise machine to drown out the rest of the noise. Get it out into the open as soon as possible to avoid resentment. I lived in a shitty appt with a fucked up ceiling for a year. 1 Talk to your roommate now instead of putting it off. ![]()
